since the level 2 technicians aren't calling me back, i assume that i won't have a digital connection to the outside world while i'm celebrating labor day. so this is all you get until next tuesday. it'll give me a chance to finish knitting the yoga mat bag. the recipient's yoga class starts on the 5th so i need to get bookin'; i'm only halfway done with it.
cafepress.com is hiring a web production artist. one of the qualifications is "strong graphic design skills with no desire to be a designer." i fit every qualification*. *to clarify, i don't want to be a designer in a large corporation where being a designer means doing it the way we've done it for 18 years.
my port needs to get "bounced around" and the "level 2 team" will get back to me. still no dsl at home.
my internet doesn't seem to be working from home. i didn't want to sit on hold for tech support last night.. let's see if i feel like it tonight.
fun weekend! even though i was not feeling well yesterday afternoon, and missed bob's cookout, i had a good time hanging out with sam and taking a small bikeride in the early evening. i'm back to work listenening to the thunder.. glad that it's a four day week. with a four day weekend followed by another four day week! hooray.
a scarf in less than 3 total hours. pic to come.
i accidentally saved this on the server yesterday. luckily, no one saw it before i put it back on my hard drive. desktop2 1600x1200

I don't have any walls around my computer to hang a calendar. This is because there are so many wonderful windows in our new place.. so I did up this desktop wallpaper with august on it. looking forward to sept, b desktop desktop 1280x1024 desktop 1600x1200
of much to say today.. except that I've gotten to do quite a bit of image clean-up and color correction today; even with a wacom, my arm hurts. maybe i'm getting old.. or maybe i shouldn't complain since i have both arms.
seen on the way to work. an older, white, santa claus-looking man on a recumbent wearing a FUBU shirt.
it was /really/ hard to come to work today.
this site makes me feel like i'm playing the sims. it also makes me wish kurt would win the lottery.

i'm looking foward to being unhooked for the next 4(?) days. see yoU! :)
i found this excerpt on badcorp.com.. though i'm not sure how truthful they are since they didn't have the doll factory's info right. /McDonald's Japanese President stated "the reason Japanese people are so short and have yellow skins is because they have eaten nothing but fish and rice... if we eat McDonald's hamburgers and potatoes for a thousand years we will become taller, our skin become white and our hair blonde"./ yuck. :x
-.- that's how i look today. joe helped kurt and i move yesterday for almost 8 hours. i'm a tired egg.
i'm turning off the computer to move it. no digital contact will occur from home until at least thursday. probably later, knowing tds' track record. oh, no phone either. blow up my cell if you have to.
i doubt anyone's going to ever buy any of it, but i've added a couple more pieces to my boutique. just finished the mohair scarf last night. i was attempting to "use up" a lot of yarn before moving, but i just ended up going to prairie junction in sun prairie to get more! they were really nice there, as opposed to the lady at lakeside fibers. lakeside has more and better yarn, but they were flat out snotty. i was a new knitter then, i wonder if they could tell. i'll probably give 'em another chance soon.
just saw the new, clean, painted apartment today. we get to start hauling our crap over there tomorrow. it's absolutely huge. the sunroom, living room and dining room put together are probably bigger than our current apartment; at least lengthwise. then add on the two bedrooms and a smallish kitchen and it's just like being at joe's! :) i can't wait to get out of this dump.

no one wants a pet lizard? c'mon!
all books are a go-go. i'm amazed that i haven't awakened kurt with the loud-as-heck tape gun. i'm scared to check out the attic. i don't know which boxes are empty (printer, speakers, stereo) or are full (high school yearbooks, time-life series'). maybe i'll save that for t'morrow.
i'm having a hard time making myself realize that i should be packing. i've got a couple boxes ready to go, but it's hardly put a dent in our belongings. i think i'll just have to hunker down today and do it. does anyone want a lizard? aquarium, lights, and timers included. free. he's really low maintenance.
