nice weekend
The Willy St Fair indicates the end of summer every year, in my eyes.. and that indication came yesterday. I had my first falafel and kicked myself for not having one sooner. Now I'm hopping on the fried chickpea bandwagon. Yum.

Funny, I had funnel cake for the first time. I felt so midwestern, even though I still like fried dough better (a New England fair food, similar, but made with pizza-crust like discs instead of batter).

funny, i never had a funnelcake in the 5 years i lived in wisconsin.. the cheeseburger was damn good.. and (to my pleasant surprise) my tummy was/is fine.. but i felt stinky afterwards.. like the stink of meat was all over me.

We saw you & Kurt walking to the fair as we drove our tired kids home from the festivities. Two ships passing and all that. I can't believe you've been missing out on falafel all this time. Dude! You can make it at home with an easy mix, and as long as you don't mind the cooking-in-oil smell it's all good. I like Near East brand. The best falafel I ever had was from a street vendor -- it had french fries *in* the pita. Brilliant!
