w00t!

the fridayfive gal must work with taxes.. she won't be back til next friday. i realized, while driving into work this morning, that i've had my labret pierced for 10 years now. that made me feel old. not old enough to take it out, though.
kurt has off again tomorrow so i think we're going to try to go to the safe house in milwaukee for some eats. it's this weird place where you have to know the password to get in and if you don't, they make you do something funny. workmate says it's like maxwell smart spy-like inside. kurt claims to know the secret password; i hope he's right.

sorry

i've been so lamz0r with my entries. i haven't been doing a whole lot of knitting, or much of anything, really. i did sign up for jim's yoga class at the co-op, starting this sunday and it goes for 6 weeks. i got a couple other people to join in the fun, too! kurt won't though, cuz it'll interrupt texas hold 'em. :/

April 26, 2004

monday, monday

we had a pretty good weekend! kurt was off on saturday, so we thought we'd go check out the local casino, ho-chunk. it was pretty boring, for me, because it's chock full of slots and only a handful of video poker machines. kurt played blackjack, lost a bunch on craps, and then came out even. i, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. then we went to our favorite sushi restaurant whose last day of business was saturday. the owners are retiring and getting out of the food biz. :(
sunday was slow going. we went to the avenue for breakfast, after we were able to move around, then we played another marathon session of texas hold 'em at bob and amy's. i came in 3rd, after mentally conceding cuz it had been 5 hours of cards. now it's monday. and i'm at work. :/

April 20, 2004

what a great birthday!

i had so much fun over the weekend. we had a really nice brunch at the nauti-gal on sunday morning, and then kurt and i had a delicious dinner at restaurant magnus on sunday night. and yesterday we were the only two people in the whole theater while seeing eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. it was the best movie i've seen in a really long time. then many gracious people proceeded to buy me shots at the tavern. i shoulda taken today off, too. :)

April 19, 2004

yup

we're gunna go see eternal sunshine of the spotless mind today. dinner last night was totally yummy. we were there for ~2.5 hours.

April 17, 2004

5. what was the last song you heard?
days go by - dirty vegas

April 15, 2004

thanks

for the kind aging words! i've been kinda busy this week making it possible for me to have next monday off from work. monday's aren't good days to miss unless one is contagious.

April 13, 2004

erm

i'm not excited about becoming 27 in less than a week.

April 12, 2004

update:

we ended up at the jet room.

i'm disappointed

that the only place kurt and i can think to go for breakfast is denny's.

April 11, 2004

new!

April 10, 2004

so

i was bored. and wanted to try this kind of piecing images together. which i did very halfassedly.

cleanup

i spent the morning cleaning up my html and making a php include for my nav. then i did a little maintenance on the ring all while playing with the ferrets at interaction intervals. now my coffee has made me shakey.

April 9, 2004

yay

kurt and i got up and went on a shopping marathon. i didn't find much for comfortable springwear, but old navy came through with some tshirts. then i went for a 30 minute bikeride to see how the iPod would fare. it did well.
and now, fridayfive: 1. What do you do for a living?
i'm a webmonkey
2. What do you like most about your job?
the group of people /with/ whom i get to work.
3. What do you like least about your job?
the group of people /for/ whom i work.
4. When you have a bad day at work it's usually because _____...
i got bored.
5. What other career(s) are you interested in?
owning my own design business. teaching people common sense is a close second.

April 8, 2004

91.5fm?

so, my iTrip station is 91.5. i often wonder if cars driving next to me practice "station scanning", like i do; where they'll just press the radio scan button until they hear something they like. if the cars driving next to me do that and get to 91.5, they'll be privy to my musical tastes for the duration of the red light or other traffic occurrences. incidentally, 91.5 is chicago public radio, and on a clear day on the east side of madison, you can hear it well.

funny find

i'm with them [link via: a favorite online messageboard] // edit: the guy's blog is down.. but here's the jist of it: it was a care instruction label on a laptop bag that said "hand wash" yadda yadda, and then the french instructions said "we're sorry our president is an idiot. we didn't vote for him".

April 6, 2004

i have

little to report on. i'm just patiently waiting for the upcoming four-day weekend. i've got nothing special planned, but i'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

April 4, 2004

there he is

aww..

happy

dst! thankfully, i set the bedroom clock ahead before falling asleep.. but it still feels like 7:30, not 8:30.

April 3, 2004

almost fo

i finally got most of the bag done.. it needs seaming and two 30" i-cords, and then i need to find someone to give it to. it's kinda old-ladyish, though.

April 2, 2004

aahh

it's finally friday. this was one of those weeks wherein i've wished it was friday since tuesday. the fridayfive isn't up yet, so i'll try to remember to keep checking it, but don't be heartbroken if i don't get to it til midnight or so.
sam's having a good time hanging out with us. he didn't want to sleep upstairs on wednesday night, but he hung out with kurt last night and then came in to lay on my leg at about 4 this morning. he sure is a cutie. i also just took this opportunity to clean up my blogrolling links. there were a handful of them that hand't blogged since february. spring cleaning is among us.

countdown

bekee's birthday in t-18 days. sorry i've been so lax in updates and knitting pictures and things in general. the mood during my weekday waking hours leaves a lot to be desired. there's been a whole rigamarole at work the last couple months, and today is supposed to be the day that "the switch is flipped". so the boss whom i've had for the last 2 years is no longer my boss and i get a brand new one. i'm not sad that i'm losing one or happy that i'm gaining another, i just have to get used to it. old boss' job is getting switched mostly to catalogue so i'll still see her, but not all the time. it's thursday and i haven't knitted more than a row since sunday. though, the aran pouch would be done in an hour or so if i'd just sit down and do it. my good, old friend jon gave me a cd with mp3s from parties we went to in '94. i've been listening to them constantly; it sure takes me back some. we also had some "let go's" yesterday at work. though, the article in the wsj doesn't mention the eight very important people who are not here today. needless to say, my attitude kinda stinks this morning. i seem to write more when i'm unamused.
