knitting frenzy pt 2
i finished three pairs of bittens in the last couple days.. two are here. the missing pair is black, so i thought it would be self-explanitory.

i also made this for someone to keep all his ipod headphones in:

well, i guess they're attempting to resolve this issue.. until that happens though, i have to check my email through a yahoo account. which totally sucks. my host said they're being removed from the list and its "users" will be able to get emails in up to 48 hours but that doesn't mean tds will update their list in that time. so i could be using yahoo for like 6 months or something lame like that. dumb. i'm gunna go watch the drama on tnt.
so my (or my host's) domain has been blacklisted and i can't receive emails because tds uses this list. wtf.
yesterday, the ferrets surprised me with their cuteness by sleeping behind the door:

the weekend went too fast, and today is crawling at a snail's pace.
speaking of snails, kurt and i are making escargot to bring over to mom's next saturday. i have to come up with something for me cuz they're making ribs and kurt's bringing a tiny chicken. i think i'll make bruchetta (thanks to cousin beth who brought some delicious bruchetta to the extended family holidays!). or i'll use suzanne's anchovy/caper/tomato recipe.
the freidel gals enjoyed all the gifts that i got from work on friday. i even had enough goml dolls to give one to 2nd cousin arianna (that was the first time i'd met her, she's almost one).
i've covered my desktop clock with a post-it note in the hopes that the afternoon will just breeze on by. we'll see.
these are my first for a guy. i hope he likes them.

these are the bittens for kelly. she wears them at work cuz it's freezing after lunch. this is the correct usage. :)

i also finished kathy's hat yesterday. it took less than 2 hours.

i finished judy's bittens, but of course, forgot to get a pic of them.
i miss the friday five. it gave me an excuse to not have to come up with something. so i'll steal one from almost a year ago and see how/if my answers have changed.
1. List your five favorite beverages.
coffee, water, sprite, vodka+seltzer, bloody m.
2. List your five favorite websites. zefrank, orisinal, i read boingboing and metafiltereach day. i can't think of a fifth.
3. List your five favorite snack foods.
yogurt, gardetto's, pistachios, edamame, granola bar.
4. List your five favorite board and/or card games.
texas hold 'em, euchre, sheepshead, scrabble, solitaire
5. List your five favorite computer and/or game system games. the sims is the only one i play.
just short a thumb (and weaving in the ends) for judy's pair. after that, it's a hat. i'm sure that'll take less time, but i never seem to get the size right on hats. in a week i'll still be sleeping.
only a little over a week until i'm home free. i have a looong list of things to knit. and it keeps getting longer. i need my netflix and yarn and couch. and that's it.
well, i just joined up for a free 2-week trial of netflix. they said the average number for first timers to add to their queue is 6-10. i have 24. lol.
i've successfully deleted every comment from the end of october to today. i should back-up more often.
finishing up on the second week of no smoking at work. i do really well until about 4:30. then i start feeling like i'm going to crawl right out of my skin. i've also turned into an offensive asshole while driving home. i've been considering keeping one in the car just for the alleviation of stress on my homeward commute, but i decided that would be cheating.
the bittens are taking off. everyone who's anyone wants a pair. plus i have to get a scarf done for mom's boyfriend's nephew. it's sweatshop time! *goes to order more lamb's pride*
you can register your celly if you haven't already (apparently it has to be done by december 15th). www.donotcall.gov
this is what i've been doing all weekend:

one pair takes ~6 hours, so i can get two done per day, roughly. i still have five pairs to make yet. yowza.
the only delivery sushi in town has closed. it makes me sad. but it will certainly curtail the frivilous spending that i do every other friday night.
oh, and i can't seem to get all day brekkie to load on my mac at work, but you should check it out if you can.
p.s. thanks, jinjin. i know you'd notice. :)
no smokey at work. i didn't expect anyone to notice, but i wish someone would. apparently we're doing well, saleswise. the dept had to head over to the guest prepping area to re-clothe dolls for new heads. i knew i'd have a panic attack as soon as i got down there. and i did. it went away, cuz i worked through it. i didn't know if it would really or not. i wonder if i'll have another one if i do this again tomorrow.
i saw two people that i used to know, this morning, on my way to work. the first one was changing lanes behind me like a crazy person. when people do that, i tend to glance over as they pass me to see if i can make a face at them. well, it was an old bbs friend named chris. he's the one who inherited the nickname "cheese" since he had dropped out of high school and everyone was sure that's all he'd have to eat.
the other one was a guy who was a senior when i was a freshman. his name is hans. there is no way in heck he'd remember me, but it doesn't matter. then i started thinking about how i'll be 28 next year. and it's supposed to be my 10 year high school reunion, and whether or not i'll go.
mercury is in retrograde again!
i've been smoke-free at work for 2 days; going on a third. when at home, i have a couple or three. but that's it. i also removed one of my two tongue piercings (the one i got when i was 16, at the le chateau co-op by a completely unprofessional woman and my tongue swelled all the way down my throat and mom begged me to take it out but i wouldn't cuz it hurt so bad and i didn't want to have to go through it again). turns out, if it had been done correctly, it wouldn't have hurt or swelled nearly as bad. at least my professionaly-done one wasn't even close to being as painful. no one's gunna notice that it's gone, though it's given me a bit of a lisp.
i finally got the yarn from webs yesterday. all but one skein (they didn't have the color), so i've started on liz's bittens. speaking of yarn, i got an email from some italian guy who came across my blog. says he works at a yarn factory in italy which manufactures cashmere. he wants to send me a sample and have me explain what knitting rings are because he's surprised at the sheer number of americans that are so into hand knitting. i think i can give him a little info, but i don't need an overseas penpal. unless he gives me free yarn. :)
oh, and look at this!
