humility

i've never been one to give a rat's ass what people think of me. even with purple hair and a ridiculous (i say that now) amount of facial piercings that made me look like a friggin' pin cushion, and baggie jeans where i could fit both of my legs into one of them (thanks for letting me look so silly, mom :), and a chain wallet whose chain clanked into things while walking down state street.

i'll never forget my last trip to walmart. i was probably 17ish, and there were two "old" ladies (sixtyish) in line in front of me. they had the nerve to ask me how i thought all those holes in my face would make me look when i was 30. i told them it didn't matter, as long as i didn't end up looking like them.

*gasp!*

that shut 'em up.

and i still have a couple of those holes in my face.

Yaaay, Bekee!! :-) That's the one thing that I always admired about you.. You did your own thing, always, and didn't care what people thought. Anyhoo.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (early)
