ok, bear with me

so, my right earbud stopped working and i only just got them in february; well, they came with the ipod radio remote. since i had not heard any more news of the new apple store in west towne, i called apple up to initiate an exchange.

they had to tie my purchase to my ipod in order for me to qualify for the apple limited one-year warranty, even though the ipod had nothing to do with the malfunct earbud. a half hour later, i was well on my way to receiving a package from apple!

so i waited... and finally, in the mail, came a radio remote. without earbuds. imagine my excitement when i realized that i got to call them back to explain the situation! i talked to several people before i finally ended up in sales where we determined he'd just ship another radio remote with earbuds and all i had to do was return the two remotes and pair of earbuds.

great. problem solved. not 3 days later, i get a package from apple and return my package to apple. or so i thought.

among the frazzle that was house-closing, i checked my balance last friday and saw that a charge was pending from apple in the amount of $51.70 (the cost of a radio remote when not returned). guess how thrilled i was to know that i got to call them and explain my dilemma!

after talking to a repair rep and a customer service rep, they thought i should call fedex. the very nice fedex rep tried searching 6 ways from sunday and could not locate the package. while she was looking, i realized apple was expecting a package from dhl, but they had sent me a link to a form from fedex, so there was no way we were going to find this package.

so i called apple back, and after getting hung up on by a cs rep, and finally getting someone who referred my situation to her supervisor, i will be credited the $51.70.

so, all in all, apple was pretty nice about it, but i'm kinda peeved that i had to find the culprit; which was probably just a simple programming error.
